FAQ
What are your covid 19 protocols?
I am a covid conscious therapist, I continue to wear my mask during cold season. Masks are optional for clients. All surfaces are disinfected between each client and all laundry is washed in the hottest water. Air purifier will be running all day and the window will be opened between clients to let fresh air in throughout the day when possible.
What should I wear for a treatment?
Let your therapist know your comfort level. It is possible to work on a client who is dressed. So opting to wear your shorts and t-shirt is fine, just bring clothes that you can get oil on. Direct skin contact is best with an application of oil or lotion. However your Massage Therapist is required to cover/drape you so only to expose the area which they are working on. The therapist will leave the room while you're undressing and will provide sheets and blankets to cover you during the massage.
Are you a talker?
Most of my massages are done in silence to let you relax and enjoy the massage but my general rule is if you talk I will answer, so if you feel like talking to stay awake for the massage that is fine too. I do have many people fall asleep on the table. I take it as a compliment. Some days you need connection and some days you need silence and reflection.
Do you offer direct billing
Not at this time but it is something I may consider in the future. You will be given a receipt with all the information needed to send to your insurance company.
What should I expect for my first Treatment?
Before your first visit you will be emailed a confidential health history form to fill out. Lynann will assess and create a treatment plan for you. At this time it is important to inform your therapist if you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications. Your Massage Therapist listens to your concerns and your individual needs as well as other factors that may be contributing to your situation. Only the areas you agree to be worked on will be treated. Please let the therapist know if you are uncomfortable at any time and you may stop the treatment at any time if you feel it necessary.
Do I need a doctors referal?
There is no requirement to have a referral to see a Registered Massage Therapist but, extended health care plans, and insurers may require a referral before you will be covered. You need to check with your policy to see if you need one to be reimbursed for the treatments.
Do you have a cancelation policy?
Your massage appointment time is reserved just for you. Unfortunately, missed appointments or late cancellations prevent me from accommodating other clients. If you do not make it to your scheduled appointment, and you have not informed me at least 24hrs in advance (48hrs is preferred), you may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment fee.
In the case of an emergency or circumstances outside of your control (sudden illness, family emergency, weather ect.) please let me know as soon as possible. I understand that things happen and exceptions to the above policy will be considered on an individual basis.
Late appointments: I do not add time or adjust the fee for appointments that start late.
It's important to remember that missed appointments cannot be billed to extended health.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.
